Blake Co. 1935 Product Catalog
This shows some of the products offered by Blake Co. "Rockford Tent And Awning Co." back in 1935. We no longer offer all of these products like patio furniture and tents. However, we still can make many of the canvas products.
Sadly, the Blake Awning building at 404-406 Elm Street shown on the last page was torn down for "urban renewal" around 1971. I have many fond memories back in the 1960's, when I was much younger, helping my Dad and exploring the building.
To put the prices in this catalog in perspective, in 1935 a first class postage stamp was 3 cents, a loaf of bread was 8 cents, gas was 19 cents a gallon, average new car price was $580.00, average wages were $1,500.00 per year, and average cost of a new house was $6,300.00.
